I tried it Saturday (07/12) evening around 8:30 p.m. because I wanted to go to N.E. 163rd St. The traffic was very light, until just north of 135th St. Then the traffic became really chaotic. I will never take that route again. Slamming on brakes, bumper-bumper, many close calls, complete stoppage of all northbound lanes. It is extremely dangerous to try to merge from the new express lanes, extreme left, to the extreme right lane to get off on the 826 East/Beaches exit. The exit point of the new express lanes and the 163rd St. exit are too close to each other for that and I foresee many accidents in the future from trying that manuever. Additionally, I got behind 2 vehicles, one in each lane, and both were traveling under 50 mph and I just could not get around them. At one point, the express lanes were slow moving and the regular lanes were moving faster than we were.

This plan was not very well thought out. A gradual merge right lane should have been provided from 135th to the 163rd exit point for vehicles doing the same thing I was doing. And, slow movers should not be allowed in the express lanes.
